Advanced Micro Devices unveils new platform Print E-mail

Advanced Micro Devices Inc (AMD.N), the second-largest maker of computer processors, said on Monday it had unveiled the Spider, a platform of chips for building a desktop computer.

The company said the new platform combines a special processor for managing graphics with a new microprocessor and a set of chips which link the different components within a system.
